Just login to facebook website today and find this update/notification, introducing the change on facebook home page.

What’s New?
Filter, Stream, Publisher, and Highlights
Filters is created to ensure you are updated on what the friends you care about are posting. Filter can be configured by friend list, applications (like Photos).
Stream is a feed, shows all posts from all your friends in real-time. Again, you can control who appears here.
Publisher, is a tool made for you to share notes, though, and photos into the stream.
Hightlights is featured photos, events, notes and more, chosen based on what your friends have interact with. This is, probably, advertising from which facebook made money.
